Bring R&B funk to your 2018 send-off with Salute to Vienna. This concert is a dazzling homage to Vienna’s golden era, and has been a New Brunswick tradition for 13 years at the State Theatre. Marvel at operettas and ballroom dancing alike. The New Jersey Festival Orchestra will also perform in Westfield, joined by Broadway vocalists and dance pros from the Dance Theatre of Harlem. Tap your toe along to the sounds of timeless MGM musicals at Singin’ and Dancin’ with the Stars.

If you’re a runner or have always wanted to try a race, make your way to NYC for the New York Road Runners Midnight Run through Central Park starting at 11:59 pm. Warm up with dancing and music at 10 pm. Fireworks will light your four-mile route. For a more chill evening, reserve a private bay at Topgolf Edison to shoot golf balls, chow down and sip bubbly with up to six players per bay. Topgolf boasts 102 climate-controlled hitting bays and microchipped balls that score themselves.

It’s Dinner Time
Check out one of Hoboken’s newest Japanese restos, Saku, with a three-course meal. Choose from drool-worthy picks like pepper-seared tuna ponzu with sesame and carrots, filet mignon with uni butter, zucchini ramen or sushi and sashimi. A DJ starts spinning at 9 pm, and select time reservations include a champagne toast. You can also end the year on a note of mystery at Murder Among the Mateys, a pirate-themed murder mystery dinner. Get your fill of dinner, dessert and dancing while trying to figure out which scallywag did the crime. Prizes will be given out for most dramatic, best dressed and more, so come in costume.
