You don't need the luck of the Irish to find a great way to spend St. Patrick's Day.

Whether you want history, crafts, dancing or hiking, we've got something your wee lads and lassies will enjoy.

March 3

Miss Seashore Line 2018
Warren Township Library, Warren

Miss Seashore Line 2018, Kyra Seeley, will discuss the importance of St. Patty's Day, then teach the kids how to step in honor of the holiday themselves. 

Heritage Irish Dance
Peapack Reformed Church, Gladstone

Wow the kids with moves by the Heritage Irish Dance Troupe, which will be performing their authentically-Irish routines to celebrate. Once they're inspired, the kids will definitely want to stick around for the brief instruction demo so they can practice their own steps, too.

March 3-4

Passport to Discovery: Ireland
Garden State Discovery Museum, Cherry Hill

Enjoy the sounds of The Next Generation of Traditional Irish Music at 2 pm. Take in other activities and permanent museum exhibits once the show's over. 

March 7

Dublin Irish Dance: Stepping Out
MPAC, Morristown

Learn the history of Celtic culture through music and dance of the Emerald Isle. These world champions of step dancing feature a traditional band and vocalist, too. 

March 10

St. Patrick's Day at The Shannon Rose Irish Pub
Clifton and Ramsey locations

Dress them to the green nines in their best leprechaun get-ups. The best dressed gets free kids' meals for a whole year. Take in Irish music, get their faces painted and take part in a raffle that benefits St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. If you want to celebrate without the kids, each locale has events from March 15-18 like live bands, whiskey tastings and a special menu.

The Chieftains
MPAC, Morristown

This renown Irish group has won six Grammys, so you know this show will be one to remember. Take in traditional tunes with a stylistic twist, featuring a fiddler, flautist and more. 

March 16

St. Patrick's Day STEAM Hour
Warren County Library, Hackettstown

Kids ages 8-17 can come decked out in their coolest green threads to take part in themed science projects. Dye a white flower green, grow seeds from a sponge, craft rainbow paper and more, all for free.

Dream! A Mother-Daughter Art Retreat
Appel Farm Arts and Music Center

Squeeze in some A1 quality time with your 11-and-upper this weekend. She can flex her creativity through performing arts activities, poetry and other artistic workshops. Boogie down together at the St. Patrick's Day Dance on Saturday night.

Can A Leprechaun Be Caught?
Museum of Early Trades and Crafts, Madison

Do your kids know where the Leprechaun myth started? Find out its root in shoemaking, then make a leprechaun trap, join storytime and explore the museum as a family.

It's Your Lucky Day

Calling all crafters! Kiddos can drop by for a seasonal "luck of the draw" craft.

Mercer Green Fest
Rider University, Lawrenceville

While this isn't exactly a St. Patty's Day event, it's all about going green (so yes, he can still break out his leprechaun suit). Peruse info and offerings from 75 eco-friendly businesses and orgs to a promote greener lifestyle for Mercer County. The kids can learn about electric cars, recycling and wellness while exploring a science fair and robotics projects (perfect for STEM-obsessed little ones!). 

Dublin Irish Dance
State Theatre, New Brunswick

Stepping Out is a high-energy combo of sights and sounds, courtesy of Dublin Irish Dance. These steppers have performed in Riverdance, Lord of the Dance and more. Let them take your kids back in time to 19th century rural Ireland, the famine and mass migration to NYC.

Rhythm of the Dance
RVCC Arts, Branchburg

Amaze the kids at this National Dance Company of Ireland performance. Their jaws will drop at the costumes, choreography, band and the voices of the Young Irish Tenors. 

Traditional Irish Music Concert
Manville Library, Manville

Have a blast taking part in jigs, pub songs and more with Mark Kilianski and Deb Shebish. The kids will learn all about Irish traditions and the respect Irish culture has for music.

The World of Saint Patrick

Learn the history behind the holiday's namesake and the Ireland of his time. This is perfect for budding archeologists and artists alike.

The Blarney Boys
Bound Brook Memorial Library, Bound Brook

David Rimelis and David Braham, two performers known for their Irish tunes, will perform a mix of classic jams from the island, as well as Irish-American tracks.
