When Blue Met Egg

A storybook for preschoolers

When Blue Met Egg by Lindsay WardOne cold winter day, Blue returns to her nest to find something wondeful: Egg! Or rather a snowball she mistakes for an egg. Blue puts Egg in a pail and sets off to look for Egg's mother. But as the winter winds down and the temperature goes up, Blue is in for a sad surprise. Not to worry though. In this sweet story of friendship, even snowmelt grows into something beautiful.

Intricate cut-paper illustrations capture author Lindsay M. Ward's lovable characters in When Blue Met Egg (Dial Books for Young Readers, 2012). And, New Jersey kids will delight in the New York City backdrop highlighted throughout this book for kids ages 3 to 5.
