Dr. Arno Fried directs the largest pediatric neurosurgery practice in New Jersey. His practice, Advanced Neurosurgery Associates, provides pediatric neurosurgery coverage 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Dr. Fried practices pediatric neurosurgery at Hackensack University Medical Center, St. Barnabas Medical Center, St. Peter’s University Hospital, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Jersey City Medical Center, and Morristown Medical Center and Goryeb Children’s Hospital; he holds leadership positions in most of these hospitals.
His practice is family-centered, and provides a very high level of experience to his young patients and their families. He is among a small group of neurosurgeons in the country to be board certified in both general neurosurgery and pediatric neurosurgery.
Dr. Fried began his career at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He then served as chief of pediatric neurosurgery at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic. He has been chief of pediatric neurosurgery in New Jersey within the hospitals where he practices for many years.
Dr. Fried specializes in all aspects of pediatric neurosurgery, and has 27 years of experience. He sees many cases of hydrocephalus, epilepsy, and brain tumors. He has mastered many new surgical techniques, including endoscopic minimally-invasive neurosurgery, epilepsy surgery, and navigation for brain tumor resections.
Dr. Fried has received many honors in neurosurgery. Among these are his inclusion as Top Neurosurgeon in New York magazine, NJ Monthly, Inside Jersey, Castle and Connolly Top Docs, and America’s Best Doctors. Most recently, his department in pediatric neurosurgery and pediatric neurology was included in US News and World Report for Best Children’s Hospitals at Hackensack University Medical Center as among the best in the country—it was listed at #29 nationwide, surpassing many prestigious programs.
