JCC Camp Ruach…“Home for the Summer” in Bridgewater NJ for 17 summers!
JCC Camp Ruach is a summer day camp located on 14 beautiful acres at the Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center in Bridgewater, NJ. All are welcome at Camp Ruach! Bus transportation is provided to/from Bridgewater and is included in camp rates.
Camp Ruach provides many flexible scheduling options throughout our 9 weeks of summer for campers as young as 15 months. Our infant room houses children from 7:30am – 6:00pm with a high adult/child ratio.
Our preschool unit is comprised of children aged 2, 3, 4 and entering Kindergarten. Campers receive a wide variety of age-appropriate programming and activities including swimming, sports, music, arts & crafts and more. The Campers have a balanced combination of both outdoor and indoor camp time. We offer various naptime options and welcome non-potty trained children! We have an amazing staff of highly trained and qualified adults and assistants. Many of them work year round in our preschool and they all create a loving bond with the children. Campers entering 1st – 3rd grade are able to choose electives offering a more personalized schedule and a chance to explore new activities. The High Ropes Course, Mini-Golf Course, Musical Theatre Program and Specialized Sports Clinics are among some of the favorites. Rounding out their daily schedules, children have instructional swim and sports, arts, entertainment and special programming daily.
Our 4th, 5th and 6th grader campers are on on-site three days per week and enjoy two day-trips per week. Trips included in camp tuition. Past trips have been to water parks, Jersey Shore beaches, Dave and Busters and Camden Aquarium, to name a few. While on-site, campers choose three electives per 2-week period.
Campers entering 7th grade have two program options. Road Rulz is our Teen Travel Camp for 7th – 9th graders. Campers travel every day and enjoy a combination of day trips and overnight trips. Day trips include amusement parks, water parks, a Broadway show and beach days. One-night overnights have been to Great Wolf Lodge and Hershey Park. Road Rulz goes on two Monday-Friday trips. Past trips include Boston, Lake George and Virginia Beach.
Seventh through ninth graders can also choose our Sababa program. Campers are on-site Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and go on trips Tuesdays and Thursdays. When a Sababa teen is at camp they have specialized programs and electives. Sababa goes on one 2-night overnight trip, a highlight of the summer!
Our LIT (Leadership in Training) program is open to teens in 8th and 9th grade who have an interest in working with the children at Camp Ruach. LIT combines learning to be a leader through community service, learning how to work with children, volunteering with the campers and going on a fun trip each week. Campers have a lot to do with the planning of this program to make it just right for them!
