David Y. Lin, MD, FAAOS
Pediatric Orthopedics

Board-certified pediatric orthopedist David Y. Lin, MD is proud to serve his community at one of the largest pediatric orthopedic groups in the state, The Orthopedic Center in Cedar Knolls.
“I take care of kids ranging from one-day-old newborns to college students. On any given day I could be treating a fractured elbow, an ACL tear or a congenital deformity,” says Dr. Lin, father of an 11-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son. “It’s exciting to work with children—they definitely keep me young at heart and I love their resilience.”
Dr. Lin has subspecialty interests in pediatric and adolescent trauma; sports injuries of the knee and shoulder; hip dysplasia; and limb deformities, such as clubfeet. He has also garnered extensive experience and a reputation in arthroscopically treating meniscal injuries and ACL tears in adolescents and teenagers. “We’re seeing more of these types of injuries as children become increasingly competitive in athletics at all levels. Fortunately, most kids recover quite nicely and are shortly back on the playing field,” he says.
Dr. Lin earned his medical degree and orthopedic training in New York City at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Saint Vincent/Catholic Medical Centers, respectively. He completed his pediatric orthopedic fellowship at the renowned Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee. He maintains hospital affiliations at Morristown Medical Center, Overlook Hospital, Saint Barnabas Medical Center, and Short Hills Surgery Center.
He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and an active member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America. Dr. Lin is committed to the advancement of orthopedic education, and teaches physicians and nurses, residents, trainers, students, and physical therapists throughout the area.
