At Smile Solutions in Edison and Union, Dr. Christopher Chung always puts his patients first.
“I consider treatment options from my patients’ perspective by asking about their expectations,” says Dr. Chung, father to Katie, 5, and Lauren, 3. “They don’t want to wear braces too long, experience too much pain, or have teeth removed—so we’ll use the latest technologies and the gentlest, most progressive treatments available.”
Dr. Chung has been trained in modern orthodontic techniques, including Invisalign, ceramic braces, self-ligating braces, lingual braces, and indirect bonding. He is one of the first orthodontists in the state to offer SureSmile, a treatment through which patients experience faster results with less discomfort than traditional braces. Smile Solutions also offers i-CAT Cone Beam dental imaging; its precise 3-D digital images provide the most accurate and complete diagnoses.
“We always try to use technology to our patients’ advantage,” he says.
Certified by the American Board of Orthodontists, Dr. Chung specializes in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics for children and adults. He earned his DDS degree from the University of California before completing his postdoctoral orthodontic specialty training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, where he also received a master’s degree in oral biology.
Dr. Chung maintains his commitment to excellence through continuing education; he regularly attends dental seminars and remains active in the American Dental Association and American Association of Orthodontists, among other dental societies and organizations.
“I always knew I wanted to work with children,” says Dr. Chung. “I love orthodontics because it can make such a big impact in their lives.”
