The third annual Tilt Kids Festival, featuring six premieres and works for children, is returning to New York City, March 3-18.
Known for revolutionizing theater for kids in France and around the world, acclaimed French director Joël Pommerat opens Tilt 2018 with a rare US performance of his most celebrated work, Little Red Riding Hood, adapted from Charles Perrault’s classic fairy tale and created for his eight-year-old daughter.
Other highlights include NY premiere of Jérôme Bel’s Gala, Yto Barrada and Julie Klear’s exhibition Once upon a Forest, the Animal Spring, Simon Critchley’s lauded Philosophy for Kids, Broken Box Theater’s mime interactive performance. And a special focus on francophone cultures (reading of Najla Khoury’s Pearls on a Branch by Libanon-born acclaimed actress Yasmine Al Massri), a Lettering Lab workshop at the Cooper Hewitt with Lebanese-Canadian designer Diane Mikhael, a musical nap with nay and oud virtuoso, Bassam Saba, with the NY Arabic Orchestra.) Many of these events are free. Further details: https://tiltkidsfestival.org/ and below.
