The UCPAC celebrates Father’s Day with Hollywood’s most famous father: “The Godfather.” Renowned as one of the greatest films of all time, with five Golden Globes and three Academy Awards, the 1972 film “The Godfather” will be shown on 35 mm film on the UCPAC’s historic Main Stage. The movie, based on Mario Puzo’s novel of the same name, centers on the fictional Corleones, an Italian-American mafia family in New York City. The Don Vito Corleone (played by Marlon Brandon) and his youngest son Michael (played by Al Pacino) are at the heart of this story, in which the highly respected and feared Don’s commitment to his traditional values cause a conflict that drags a reluctant Michael into a world of crime that he never wished to enter.
