Four programs are offered this year: “Chalice Children” for pre-K and Kindergarten children introduces the Unitarian Universalist faith tradition with stories, songs, activities, and crafts. “Love Will Guide Us” for children in grades 1 to 3 teaches children the wisdom from the many sources of the Unitarian Universalist faith. Children in grades 4 to 8 learn about social activism in “Harry Potter and Unitarian Universalism” using wizarding activities as the basis for discussion and action based on Unitarian Universalist religious values.
Central Unitarian’s high school Youth Group meets monthly for worship, community- building activities, service and advocacy projects, social outings, learning programs, and leadership experiences.
Several times a year children and youth participate in special all-ages worship services on special holidays and celebration. Infants and toddlers are welcome to join their parents during regular Sunday morning worship services at 10:30, and a nearby respite room is available to attend to a crying or nursing child.
Religious education at Central Unitarian is a cooperative learning program involving parents, grandparents, and members of the congregation. A teacher training program for new and returning volunteer teachers is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 9.
