Special Needs Toddler and Parent Support Group
Oct 4, 2016 to Jun 23, 2017
09:30 AM until 11:30 AM
This event occurs daily, every 3 day(s).
Our Special Toddler Playgroup and Parent Support began in 2014 and has been a great success. This program provides educational and therapeutic support services to children ages 12-36 months who demonstrate delays with their physical development. Staff works side by side with parents to assist their children with developmental play activities.
The toddlers participate in such activities as language stimulation, socialization, educational/play activities, assistive technology, and in our therapeutic movement groups.
If requested by parents, toddlers can receive an evaluation by Dr. Armento who is a pediatric physiatrist and the NJEDDA's Medical Director. Our toddlers are also welcome to utilize our clinics for adaptive equipment and for braces.
Our goal is to help the children reach their maximum potential while socializing with new friends. While sharing our many specialized resources with this group, our staff is excited about meeting the needs of these young children and their families.
Thanks to generous support from the Elks the program is free of charge and meets on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
