Observe and Ponder through the Teaching of Science

Event Date/Time

Mar 5, 2013
7:30 pm

Description

Parents considering Waldorf Education want reassurance that a Waldorf school will prepare their children to pursue a math or science college degree if they wish. Part of this involves connecting students (and ourselves) to the love of knowing about the world that is so natural to the young child. This love of knowledge is also what is needed to form the foundation of original scientific inquiry, but the capacity to ask new questions easily gets lost when the bulk of science teaching deals with increasingly complex and abstract explanations. Learn how Waldorf students learn. Renate Kurth was a Class Teacher and Chemistry Teacher at Green Meadow for many years. She was trained as a chemist and is now semi-retired.
