The beloved Latin Grammy winning musicianMister G is set to raise the roof and celebrate Hanukkah with a dynamic concert for all ages at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 17 at The Jewish Museum, 109 5th Ave at 92nd St., New York, NY.
Lauded as one of the "Best Live Acts" for kids and families, Mister G's joyful and energetic concerts span genres from bluegrass to bossa nova and funk to folk, with children and parents singing and clapping along from the first infectiously catchy song. For his Hanukkah show, Mister G will present new twists on traditional holiday favorites, with songs from his Parents' Choice® Gold award-winning album, The Mitzvah Bus. Missus G (Mister G's partner onstage and in life) will lead the crowd in dancing to “Challahlalala,” “Hola Shalom,” “Tokhes” (a Yiddish take on Simon Says), and of course, “Hanukkah,” his ska-tinged ode to the Festival of Lights. Mister G's high-energy, interactive concerts typically end with hundreds of kids dancing onstage.
Says Mister G, "We're really excited to celebrate Hanukkah with New York city kids and families, and to play some of our holiday favorites, like 'Latkes for Breakfast!'"
Drawing on his previous career as an adult musician, as well as his background as a teacher with a Master's in Elementary Education, Mister G's songs are immediately engaging for children and parents while effortlessly melding lessons in ecology, creativity, literacy, and multiculturalism.
A true superstar in the children's music world, with works spanning genres from bluegrass to bossa nova, funk to folk, Mister G's original music has won praise from The Boston Globe, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Sun-Times, People, New York Post, Parents magazine, and more. In addition to winning the Latin Grammy Award, his work has been honored with four prestigious Parents' Choice® Gold Awards.
