Lycored and Montclair PD host Take Me Home Registry Event for Autism Awareness Month and Earth day

Date/Time

Apr 22, 2017
12:00 PM until 03:00 PM

Description

In honor of Earth Day and National Autism Month, Orange, N.J. based international wellness company, Lycored, will be bringing their Mobile Garden, created in partnership with artist Kim Holleman, to the Montclair Police Department "Take Me Home Registry" event. The event goal is to raise awareness for autism while also encouraging people to think about their relationship with the earth and their community. During the event, attendees will be invited to sign up with the "Take Me Home Registry", a database for people who may need special assistance if they are alone or in times of emergency, learn about autism from a local autism expert and tour the trailer. In addition to that, they can also enjoy one of the educational activity stations including the rosemary plant potting station, the coloring book station and the nature’s beauty stickers and temporary tattoos. The event will also be raising money for Spectrum 360 and Autism Speaks – where attendees can donate to the causes in return for signing an Autism Awareness puzzle piece. The total donations will then be matched by Lycored. We would love if you could take a moment to stop by the event to see the positive impact The Police Department and Lycored are having on the Montclair community as well as tour the Mobile Garden and register a family member if needed. Likewise, I am happy to set up an interview with a representative from any of the team’s or an autism expert on site to discuss the importance of the event and the impact it will have on the community and those affected by Autism.
