The Somerset County Park Commission summer of Sunday evening live concert performances opens at the Duke Island Park band shell on Old York Road in Bridgewater on Sunday evening, July 8. The summer series of concerts are free and lovers of all types of music are invited to bring lawn chairs and picnic baskets to enjoy relaxed Sunday evenings highlighted by live entertainment. 
On Sunday, July 8 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. the Park Commission will feature the classic hit songs of Bob Miranda & the Happenings. The Happenings exploded onto the national charts in May of 1966 with their first single release, See You In September. The song quickly spiraled up the charts to become an international #1 record throughout the entire summer. The Happenings continued their hits with Go Away Little Girl and Bye, Bye, So Long, Farewell, and I Got Rhythm. Start the summer with some doo-wop! Concert sponsor is Courier News and Hyatt House of Branchburg. The Summer Free Concert series will continue on Sunday, July 15 at 7:00 P.M. with Country star Billy Gilman For further information on the concerts, please call 908 722-1200.
