Girls attending will work with student volunteers from Stevens’ Society of Women Engineers and Girl Scout Adult Volunteers to gain hands-on experience through alternative energy experiments (e.g., examining a small wind turbine, testing turbine blades, designing, constructin,g and testing simple photovoltaic systems, solar water heaters, and many additional Green Energy Projects.) The daylong event will feature keynote speaker Pamela Conrad, an astrobiologist and mineralogist with the Planetary Environments Laboratory at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD, USA. |
