Rockaway Orthodontics

Melissa Roberto, DMD

Specialty: Orthodontics

At Rockaway Orthodontics, Dr. Melissa Roberto provides high-quality orthodontic treatment in a comfortable, family-friendly environment. She takes the time to answer questions from patients and their parents, who are always welcome to remain with their child during appointments. “We want our practice to feel like a home away from home,” says the mother of two, who lives in Rockaway.

Passionate about her local community, Dr. Roberto participates in local events and hosts programs like Operation Gratitude, which invites patients to donate their Halloween candy and write letters to soldiers serving overseas in exchange for prizes.

“There’s a strong sense of community in our office; it’s like an ongoing reunion in the waiting room because so many of our families live locally and have referred their friends to our practice,” she says.

We Care About Our Kids

Rockaway Orthodontics believes in the mindful and careful use of social media—a problem that has intimately touched their community—and wants to be part of the solution. The staff and their families have taken the ‘Don’t Press Send Pledge’, and have encouraged patients to do the same. “We’re just as passionate about making sure our families feel comfortable and safe outside of our office as they do when they’re here with us,” she says.

Where Great Smiles Begin

Dr. Roberto graduated from Trenton State College, now TCNJ. She earned her DMD and orthodontic specialty certificate at UMDNJ.

“I went to dental school because I remember how much my personal experience with orthodontics boosted my confidence as a teenager,” she says. “The expression that comes across our patients’ faces when their braces come off and they see their beautiful new smile for the first time is incredibly rewarding.”

She is caring, thoughtful, attentive and funny.  ~Alphonse, Mount Tabor

Dr. Roberto and her staff are just a bunch of wonderful and professional group of people. Not only was she my son's orthodontist but mine as well. She told me what I needed and didn't push for me to spend money on unnecessary braces. I trust her 100% and my son loved her and her staff too. We were from her satellite office in Wayne, and we miss her but we are both happy with our results! ~Karina, Wayne

Dr. Roberto is fantastic! She treats my teen like a real person and is geniunely interested in the challenges he is facing with his braces.
