Want to know if your school made the list for the 2019 Best Public Elementary Schools in New Jersey? Thanks to Niche, which uses a variety of data and reviews to pick out the best schools, companies and neighborhoods.

To choose the best they use data from the US Department of Education (DOE), state test scores, student-teacher ratios, student diversity, teacher quality, grade school ratings and the overall quality of the school district.

The factors considered include Academic Grade (fifty percent), Teachers Grade (twenty percent), District Overall Niche Grade (fifteen percent) and Culture and Diversity Grade (ten percent). That means everything from teacher salaries and absenteeism to racial and economic diversity are taken into account. In addition, five percent of the factors considered include parent/student surveys, which are self-reported by Niche users.

Using those factors, the top ten schools are:

  1. Princeton Charter School

  2. Littlebrook Elementary School, Princeton

  3. Lincoln-Hubbard Elementary School, Summit

  4. Deerfield Elementary School, Millburn

  5. Glenwood Elementary School, Millburn

  6. Hartshorn Elementary School, Millburn

  7. Wandell School, Saddle River

  8. Wyoming Elementary School, Millburn

  9. Mount Prospect Elementary School, Bernards Twp.

  10. Essex Fells School, Essex Fells

The Garden State has stellar schools, and even if yours didn’t make the cut, it’s by no means a bad reflection on your kid’s education. That being said, many of the best schools seem to be from the same areas.
