Once the kids are loaded up on candy on Halloween, skip making dinner and take them out to one of these spots for a freebie or great deal. Remember to keep them in their costumes!

Applebee’s

Kids in costume score a free meal here on All Hallows' Eve. Children ages 12 and under can choose any entree on the Applebee’s Kids’ Menu. 21-and-over diners can indulge in this month's DOLLAR ZOMBIE cocktail special, a freakishly tasty mashup of rum and pineapple, passion fruit, cherry and lime flavors topped off with an infectiously icky garnish: a gummy brain!

Baskin Robbins

Get a regular or kid-sized scoop of ice cream for $1.50 at participating shops. Try the flavor of the month, Trick OREO Treat: vanilla ice cream, orange creme Oreos and both Baby Ruth and Butterfinger pieces.

Chevys Fresh Mex

Hit either the Linden or Clifton location, where kids eat free in their ghostly getups. Your little ones can show off their costumes while they munch on their Mexican-inspired faves.

Houlihan’s

Hit any Houlihan’s around NJ with 12 and unders for a free meal with the purchase of an adult entree. Multiple kids? No worries: there's no limit on this freebie. Costumes encouraged. Get there early for goodie bags while supplies last!

IHOP

Snag a free Scary Face Pancake for your 12-and-under ghouls. The kids can make their own with toppings like mini OREOs and candy corn.

Joe’s Crab Shack

Kids eat free with the purchase of an adult entree on Halloween (costumes are welcome). Don't forget to show this flyer.

The Office Tavern Grill

At the Ridgewood location on October 27, little monsters can score a free kids' meal with every adult entree, ranging from skirt steak to salmon to chicken fingers. Be sure to hit the town for Ridgewood's Annual Halloween Haunted Harvest, too.

Shannon Rose Irish Pub

Kids 12 and under eat free in costume at both the Clifton and Ramsey locations. Limit 2 kids meals with each adult entree. Grown-ups can also take part in the fun on October 27 at 10 pm: dress your best for the next-level costume contest.

Quaker Steak & Lube

Kids in costume (age 12 and under) will receive a free kid's meal at their local Lube in Brick, Edison or Pohatcong.
