Good News About Autism
Autism rates have increased dramatically over the past decade. In New Jersey alone, one in every 45 children is currently considered on the spectrum. But researchers may have solved an important piece of the puzzle. According to a December 2014 study published in Molecular Systems Biology, Stanford University researchers discovered a series of genes that could be responsible for autism spectrum disorders. This find could be a first step to help scientists better diagnose, treat and prevent autism.
