Wednesday, August 1

Mendham Drive-In Movie in the Park

Where: Carriage House, Mendham
Time: 7 pm
Deets: Transport your family back to the 1950s with a drive-in movie night to watch Coco. Space is limited, so swing by early for a good space! Ice cream will be available for purchase.

Thursday, August 2

Make Your Own Slime

Where: Morris County Library, Whippany
Time: 3-4 pm
Deets: There’s some goopy, squishy slime for everyone ages 10-18 at the Morris County Library. Make your own slime or just watch from the sidelines if you want some space from the mess.

Wednesday-Saturday, August 1-4

Manasquan Annual Fireman’s Fair

Where: Mallard Park, Manasquan
Time: Varies
Deets: Celebrate your hometown heroes at this seaside escape. Thrill-seekers line up for the Gravitron, Super Sizzler and Ferris wheel. Test your skills at skee-ball, whack-a-mole and the ring toss. Wash it all down with some funnel cake and cotton candy, which are available for purchase.

Saturday, August 4

Corn, Tomato and Beer Festival

Where: 134 Main St., Flemington
Time: Noon-8 pm
Deets: If you’re hungry for some new and different foods, stop by to sample two Jersey farm-fresh staples. There’ll be great food, live music and games especially for the kiddos to enjoy. Rain date is August 5.

Tuesday, August 7

Quilting Snails

Where: Warren County Library, Hackettstown
Time: 5:30-6:30 pm
Deets: If you’re an experienced quilter or if you just take one class at the Y, you’re welcome at Quilting Snails, a club dedicated to machine quilting. Meetings occur monthly. Registration required.

BubbleMania Comedy with a Drip

Where: Warren Township Library, Warren
Time: 7-8 pm
Deets: Everybody loves bubbles. Visit your local library for bubble cubes, spacecraft, bouncing bubbles and even "trapping" people inside bubbles. For kids in grades K-5.

Monday, August 13

Free Summer Movie: Ghostbusters

Where: MPAC, Morristown
Time: 7:30-9:30 pm
Deets: Who you gonna call? Enjoy Ghostbusters, a classic movie about parapsychologists who figure out how to neutralize ghosts in the middle of NYC.

Patient Appreciation Carnival

Where: Amara Dental Brick, Brick
Time: 1-3 pm
Deets: Make your family smile at this carnival hosted by your local dentists. There will be games, sweet treats and prizes for everyone at this community-centered celebration.

Friday, August 17

Summer Concerts at the Gazebo

Where: Springfield Avenue Gazebo, Maplewood
Time: 7-9 pm
Deets: Listen to Balkan Music by the renowned 12-piece band, Zlatne Uste (Golden Lips). They’ll play traditional music of the Balkans, primarily representing Serbian, Macedonian, Bulgarian and Romany traditions.

Saturday, August 18

One Love: Caribbean Music Fest

Where: Military Park, Newark
Time: 10:45 am
Deets: Celebrated in August to raise awareness for Black Business Month, this Caribbean music festival works closely with nonprofit organizations and small businesses that share the same goals and interests. More than 50 vendors will be selling food, beverages and crafts.

Morristown Jazz & Blues Festival

Where: Morristown Green, Morristown
Time: Noon-10 pm
Deets: You like jazz? Boogie over to this music festival, which features live performances on the Green. For out of town guests, discounted rate are available at the Best Western and Morristown Inn.

Friday, August 24

iPlay America’s End of Summer Party

Where: iPlay America, Freehold
Time: 7-9 pm
Deets: Go back to school with a bang at iPlay America’s end of summer bash, featuring B98.5 and Rayla. While general admission is free, VIP tickets are $50 per person.

Friday, August 31

William Livingston Day

Where: Liberty Hall Museum, Union
Time: 2-4 pm
Deets: Celebrate the 240th anniversary of William Livingston becoming New Jersey's first Governor with decades-old activities, like signing your name with a quill and ink, colonial dancing and themed crafts.


Summer Maker Space

Where: New Jersey State Museum, Trenton
Time: 10 am-2 pm
Deets: Get crafty on Wednesdays, where wannabe astronauts can create different projects to take home. Event takes place in the Imagination Studio. Ends August 22.

Buena Vista Summer Concert Series

Where: Michael Debbi Park, Richland
Time: 7 pm
Deets: Wednesday nights have never sounded so sweet. Join Buena Vista for free outdoor concerts every Wednesday night. Hot dogs and light refreshments are available for purchase. Bring your own lawn chair.

Free Yoga in the Park

Where: Veterans Memorial Park, Englewood
Time: 7-8 pm
Deets: Nama-stay healthy and happy this summer with free yoga in your neighborhood. Participants must check in and bring their own yoga matt. For more information, call 201-871-6645.

Hearth and Home

Where: New Jersey State Museum, Trenton
Time: 9 am-4:45 pm
Deets: Visitors can explore the homes of Native Americans in the Eastern Woodlands and other environments across North America. Learn how they adapted to the climate and surroundings. Program ends in September. Free with admission.

Embattled Emblems

Where: New Jersey State Museum, Trenton
Time: 9 am-4:45 pm
Deets: Timed to commemorate the 100th anniversary of America’s intervention in World War I, this exhibition showcases posters, flags and propaganda used to create patriotism and garner support for the war. Head here for a lesson in American history. Program ends August 19. Free with admission.

Strolling Children's Entertainment

Where: Casino Pier, Seaside Heights
Time: 7-10 pm
Deets: Every Tuesday and Thursday you and the fam can hit the pier for entertaining acts and events, face painting and balloonists. Who doesn’t want a balloon giraffe? Ends August 30.

Radical Rocketeers

Where: Warren County Library, Hackettstown
Time: 10 am-12 pm
Deets: On the first Saturday of every month, all ages are welcome to try their hand at rocket building. Basic supplies will be provided, but you can also bring your own. Registration required.
