Audi’s New Super Bowl Commercial Will Inspire Your Daughter

The car maker’s powerful 60-second spot, which highlights equal pay for equal work, is a much-watch

Audi just released its Super Bowl commercial and the message behind it is one you’ll want to share with your daughter: women deserve equal pay for equal work. The spot is set to air during the third quarter of the big game but the company released a video clip of the spot today.

Shot by award-winning female filmmaker Aoife McArdle, the cinematic style commercial tells the story of a father’s vision for his daughter as he watches her compete in a downhill cart race. As she speeds past a field of competitors, her father thinks about whether her worth will be measured by the fact that she’s female.

“Pay equality is a big message for a big stage,” Loren Angelo, vice president of marketing for Audi of America, said in a press release. Along with the new commercial, Audi of America has pledged to support women’s pay equality. One way to do that? The company has instituted a graduate internship program where 50 percent of enrollment must be female.

The spot concludes after the race is over and, well, you’ll need to watch the clip below to see what happens.
