Antonio Thomas, MD

Pediatrician Dr. Antonio Thomas has always loved science, medicine and kids. His private practice reflects his dedication to providing medical care for his patients, from birth to college age. “I want to maintain consistency of care for children so parents always feel comfortable,” Dr. Thomas says.

Growing up with 11 siblings, he has a unique understanding of the personal and medical challenges that families face. Dr. Thomas takes the time to get to know his patients and offers flexible hours.

“I’ve always felt a special connection to children, and parents tell me their child actually looks forward to coming to see me,” he says.

Dr. Thomas graduated from UMDNJ and remained at its New Jersey Medical School to complete his residency. He’s the associate medical director for the pediatric emergency department at Hackensack University Medical Center and affiliated with St. Peter’s University Hospital and JFK Medical Center.

"Dr. Thomas has been our pediatrician for the past 14 years. He has a bedside manner that is hard to come by nowadays. He takes his time with my daughters and answers all of our questions until we have a full picture of what is happening with their health. He is knowledgeable, patient and caring. We couldn't ask for a better pediatrician." -Natasha, Plainfield

"Dr. Thomas is extremely knowledgeable. There is NOTHING he has not seen. He always has the answer. I can call him at 3am and he calls right back. In times of what I considered medical crisis he has always been comfortable taking charge. As a mother, there is no worse feeling than having a sick child you cannot help. He recognizes that and is clear and concise when my emotions or worries are running high." -Jenna, South Plainfield
